FanDuel Review

If you know anything about daily fantasy sports, then chances are you have heard of FanDuel. That’s because FanDuel is one of the daily fantasy sports giants that got people interested in the industry. Since they hit the internet back in 2009, FanDuel has been the most popular site of its kind because of its huge selection of sports to bet on and its enormous user base. In 2015 alone, they paid out over $2 Billion to their customers!

Games Offered by Fanduel

If you like to bet on a specific sport or game, chances are it is offered on FanDuel. They currently allow their users to pick teams and players from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college sports, and a quite a few other leagues. Below you will find some of the most popular games and contests that you can play at FanDuel.

Head-to-Head – Everyone loves the head-to-head games at FanDuel because they play just like traditional fantasy sports. What’s great about these head-to-head games, though, is that you can get paid out after just one day! Just pick an amount that you want to wager, pick an opponent, and then set up your lineup. It really is that easy on FanDuel!

Tournaments – A lot of daily fantasy sites offer tournaments to their customers, but the majority of them don’t have as many as FanDuel does. Entry fees range from $1 all the way up to over $1000, so there really is a tournament for everyone. You can also get in tourneys with upwards of 20,000 people, so you know the payouts are going to be pretty big no matter how much you bet.

Leagues – Leagues are huge on FanDuel these days. You can sign up for week-long leagues with two, four, nine, or even up to 99 other people. The prizes will depend on how much you bet, but leagues are always a great way to bet if you find your lineups are a bit inconsistent. You can easily make up for a bad day with a couple of good ones when playing in FanDuel’s leagues.

50/50’s – 50/50’s, or double ups, are ways that you can bet and have a pretty good chance of winning some money. Unlike other contests where you have to win or come in the first couple of places to make money, all you have to do when playing 50/50’s is finish in the top half of the group. You won’t win every time, but you will have a much higher win percentage than you will when playing most other games on the site.

Triple-Up Contests – Triple-ups are pretty much the same thing as 50/50’s, but you will be able to win three times your money if you end up in the top third of the field. It’s obviously more risky than 50/50’s if you are playing in a big group, but the payouts are better and it’s a great way to use a lineup you believe in.

The Good

Since FanDuel is so popular, you can be sure that there will always be daily games for your favorite sports. On top of that, you can always be sure that the tournaments will fill up quickly, so there will always be big prize pools in the tourneys you join. Reliability is extremely important in these types of fantasy sites, and you won’t find a much more reliable place to go than FanDuel.

Considering how much is going on at FanDuel, it is pretty impressive how smoothly everything works on both PC and mobile devices. The interface is extremely clean, and you won’t ever notice the site slowing down during their peak times. Unlike some other fantasy sports sites, you will absolutely never have the issue of not being able to get your picks in because of a site issue. Depositing and receiving money is made extremely easy on FanDuel. You can use any major credit card to deposit funds, and you will get your withdrawals almost instantly when you use PayPal. It’s also a very cool perk that FanDuel pays the withdrawal fees, allowing you to know exactly how much money will be hitting your account. If you want to use your lineups in a number of different games and/or contests, you are in luck! FanDuel has a very easy-to-use lineup importer, which will quickly move your lineups to your new game. This is a very underrated feature and one that most customers use regularly. You won’t necessarily want to use the exact same lineup in each contest, but this feature allows you to import your picks and you can quickly make any adjustments that you need.

The Not So Good

One feature that a lot of FanDuel customers would like to see is a full-fledged chat room. Since they opened their cyber doors, they have allowed users to chat on the sidebar, but it’s a bit ugly and cluttered. Having a way to have a full page where you can chat with people would be great. Of course, this isn’t an extremely popular feature on the site, so it’s not something that would keep anyone from leaving altogether. If you don’t have (or want) a PayPal account, then you will be stuck with just one other option at FanDuel: withdrawal via check. This isn’t a big problem since most people can get a PayPal account pretty easily, but those who don’t want one might be a bit upset that the company doesn’t offer any other payout options. If you do have to do a check payout, don’t expect it to show up until about a week and a half later.
Overall Opinion

FanDuel is one of the top dogs in the daily fantasy sports industry, and they will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. They offer a great selection of games and contests, they pay out quickly via PayPal, and they have an easy-to-use site. It is no surprise that many fantasy gamers think that FanDuel is the very best place to go to make fantasy picks.
