STRIDELAB started in 2019 as a single rack in a record store basement on Skra Street. Today it occupies the second floor of the same building, lit by the same crooked window, run by the same two people.
We carry pairs we’d wear. That’s the whole brief.
What we believe.
A pair earns its rack space.
We test every model before stocking. If it doesn’t survive a 5-kilometer walk-test on Skra cobbles, it doesn’t make the floor.
No hype-tax pricing.
You pay what the brand asks plus our small margin. Limited drops are priced at retail, not resale. Always.
We talk you out of mistakes.
If the size is wrong, the use case is wrong, or the price is wrong — we’ll say so. We’d rather lose a sale than ship a pair you’ll resent.
Newsletter, not feeds.
We don’t run paid social. Drop announcements go to the newsletter first, then to whoever walks in. Everything else is noise.
Seven years on Skra Street.
Started as a rack in a record store.
Eight pairs, one mannequin, three brands. The owner of Skra Vinyl let us share the basement on the condition we play side-B on Sundays.
Moved upstairs. Added a second wall.
Rent doubled, capacity tripled. First newsletter subscribers numbered 213.
First limited drop — Drop 001.
Co-op with a small leather workshop two streets over. Sold out in 11 minutes. We learned to email before posting.
Online store opens. Same staff.
Newsletter crosses 4,000 subscribers. We hire a third person, exclusively to pack boxes well.
Now — Drop 014 active.
Studio open Tuesday through Saturday. Drops every Thursday. Newsletter still the first place to hear.
