Fantasy Aces Review
Established in 2012, Fantasy Aces made a name for itself by being one of the top destinations for daily fantasy football. Since then, though, they have expanded their offerings and now allow their customers to pick lineups for most major sports. While they can’t claim to pay out as much as the big boys in the industry, they have consistently offered great contests and their customer base continues to grow.
Games Offered
As mentioned, Fantasy Aces is one of the top daily fantasy sports destinations for football, but they also offer MLB, NBA, NHL, and PGA leagues. Regardless of the sport you want to play, you can be sure that you will have a number of formats to choose from. Fantasy Aces has a number of DFS games on offer, with the ones below being the most popular on the site.
SalaryPro – This is a unique format that you will not find on any other daily fantasy sports site. In SalaryPro, rather than having a set salary cap, you can actually trade points for a higher budget. This allows you to get some of the better players that you otherwise would not be able to afford. On top of that, you can actually gain points by staying below the cap, which is great for people who know how to pick their bargain players.
Head-to-Heads – This is the easiest format to understand since it is the format used by traditional fantasy sites. When playing head-to-head, you will choose your price level and will put your lineup up against another Fantasy Aces player’s lineup.
Tournaments – Tournaments are an excellent choice if you really believe in your lineup. In most cases, Fantasy Aces’ tournaments will pay out a number of places, so you don’t necessarily have to win in order to make a lot of money. Another great thing about tourneys is that there are a number of different price levels, so you can choose your tournament based on your preferred sport and budget.
50/50’s – If you don’t mind smaller winnings, you might just like the 50/50 contests at Fantasy Aces. These contests allow you to pick your lineup as usual, but you will be able to double your money if you are able to come in the top half of the group. This is a great way to play if you aren’t completely sure about you lineup, but you do think it is good enough to beat half the people in the field.
Create Your Own! – This is a very cool feature at Fantasy Aces. Rather than wading through the huge selection of contests offer on the site, you can create or search for a unique, user-created contest. This is a fantastic option because you might be in the mood for a contest that doesn’t happen to be offered on the site that day. It’s also a great game to use when you and a friend want to take part in a specific contest.
The Good
It’s no surprise that many people play at Fantasy Aces specifically because of their SalaryPro format. It makes them stand out from the crowd since it is an excellent way to pick lineups and it allows for more strategy. Fantasy Aces has a number of great features, but this is easily the best one.
Fantasy Aces seems to take pride in offering their customers a plethora of freerolls to play. Seriously, if you take a look at their list of free games, you will see why that has been one of their biggest draws for years. Regardless of the sport, you will be able to find a way to get into some free rolls for prizes, or you can even test out your line-up setting skills by playing games without cash prizes.
If you like to track your stats, you will definitely like the leaderboard feature at Fantasy Aces. Not only can you see how your past lineups have done in contests, you can also see how you have done in head-to-head contests over the years. Not only is this a great way to compare your skills with your friends’, you will also be able to get better over time by looking at your strengths and weaknesses.
The Not So Good
While Fantasy Aces’ mobile site does look good, it does not always function as smoothly as the desktop version. You can pick a sport and see the top games easily, but scrolling is sometimes a bit slow. This can be very frustrating if you need to get a last second lineup in and you have to wait for the pages to load. It’s not awful by any means, but they definitely should upgrade this version of their site or build an app for customers to use.
If you do not have a PayPal account, you might not be a fan of Fantasy Aces. This is because your only other payout option is via check, and there is a minimum withdrawal of $250 by using this option. Not only that, you have to pay a fee every time you withdrawal using this option. If you do end up signing up at Fantasy Aces, we definitely recommend getting/using a PayPal account.
A small issue that some people have with the site is the location of Fantasy Aces’ promos. They are scattered throughout the site, so it is not uncommon for players to completely miss out on a promo that they would have otherwise used. It would be great if they moved all promos to one page so their customers could easily find them.
Overall Opinion
There is very little not to like about Fantasy Aces. Sure they could work on their mobile site, but just about everything else about the site is worth checking out. They have plenty of sports to bet on and continue to add more contests for their customers. We recommend checking them out for their SalaryPro format alone, but you will probably find that you like a number of the features offered at Fantasy Aces.
