Pharoh Cooper signs with Carolina Panthers on 1-year deal

The former Rams fourth-rounder and Pro Bowl returner, Cooper was with the Cardinals and Bengals last year. Cooper took the field in 13 contests for the previous season. His percentage of passes caught was 75.8% and he had that by catching 25 out of the 33 passes that went in his direction. He earned 243 last year and had 9.7 yards per catch. In the prior season, Cooper collected 1 touchdown and had a long reception of 28 yards. Cooper accounted for 7.0% of the receiving offense for the Arizona Cardinals, accumulating 243 yards last season.

One player who will be impacted by this move is Seth Roberts. When you look at the Baltimore Ravens 3,225 total yards through the air last year, Roberts accounted for 8.4% of them. Roberts (2 receiving TD’s) held an average of 16.9 yards per game receiving and he averaged 1.3 receptions per game. His longest reception last season went for 33 yards and he was able to catch 60.0% of the balls thrown to him. He caught 21 passes thrown his way (195th in the NFL) which means he averages 12.9 YPC.
